Associating Some Biochemical Parameters with Nutrition in Living Gestational Diabetic Subjects in Ordu Province Aim: The aim of this study was to compare healthy pregnant women with gestastional diabetes (GDM) and control group living in Ordu. Anthropometric measurements of pregnant women, nutritional habits and dietary factors that cause GDM, dietary compositions (glycemic index) were determined and the relationship between biochemical parameters such as vitamin D, vitamin B12, hemoglobin, hematocrit and fasting glucose was aimed. Material and Method : After the general information about the study was given to the individuals included in the study, their alındı Informed Volunteer Consent Form beyan was accepted to accept the study. In order to determine the sociodemographic characteristics, feeding habits, and quantitative data of the pregnant women participating in the study, a questionnaire was applied to obtain the general view of the study. This questionnaire included Mini Nutritional Assessment Scale (MNA), Personal Information Presentation Form, 3-Day Nutrient Consumption and biochemical parameters routinely requested by the physician. Results : According to the results of the study, GDM pregnant women were compared with healthy pregnant women. mean age (30.34 ± 5.28 years, 28.38 ± 4.85 years), family history of diabetes (17.1%), body weight (73.1 ± 8.9 kg, 71.7 ± 7.4 kg), the rate of skipping meals (for morning breakfast 18,6%) is higher; food intake of protein, carbohydrate, fiber and B1, B2, B6, Folate, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin B12 intake was insufficient (p<0.0001); energy, fat, vitamin A (p=0.583) and vitamin E (p=0.418) intake is sufficient; all minerals except phosphorus (p=0.353) were found to be insufficient. In the biochemical findings, vitamin D respectively (17.8 ± 10.7 ng/ml, 20.6 ± 8.05 ng/ml) and vitamin B12 respectively (199.9±91.5 pg/ml, 234±114.7 pg/ml), hemoglobin respectively (10.8±2.9g/dl) of GDM pregnant women (11.9±3.2 g/dl), hematocrit respectively (30.3% ± 7.4 , 33,01% ± 8) values were low, fasting blood glucose values respectively (99.2 ± 13 mg/dl, 87.28 ± 9.2 mg/dl) were found to be high.GDM It was determined that the mean respectively OGTT 1st hour values were 181.1 ± 2.87 mg/dl and the average OGTT 2nd hour values were 153.7 ± 3.3 mg/dl. Conclusion: It was determined that daily food intake of individuals was insufficient intake of vitamins, minerals and macronutrients in pregnant women with GDM compared to healthy pregnant women. In addition, serum levels of vitamin D, vitamin B12, hemoglobin and hematocrit levels in pregnant women with GDM were found to be lower than healthy individuals. In conclusion, it is thought that nutritional elements, levels of vitamin D and B12 may be related to pregnant women with GDM.
