Abstract (EN)

This thesis is an empirical study on the relationship between religiosity and crime in the case of Ordu. In the introduction, information about the assumptions, scope and sample of the research is given. The basic assumption of our study is that there will be a significant difference between the level of religiosity of individuals who have committed crimes and convictions and the level of religiosity of individuals who are not involved in crime. In addition, it is also assumed that there is an inverse relationship between the repetition and diversity of crime and the level of religiosity, and the idea that individuals who commit crimes do not receive religious education in their childhood and early youth. In the first part of the study, which consists of two main parts as theoretical and practical, the concepts of religion, religiosity and crime are discussed. In the second part, the information about the sample and the control group was given, the religiosity scale and the interview questions were explained. Then the findings were expressed and their findings were evaluated. In the conclusion part, after giving a general summary about the theoretical part of the study, the data obtained in the application are interpreted. As a result, our assumptions at the beginning of the study have been confirmed to a great extent in the case study. Keywords: Religion, Religiosity, Relation of Religiosity and Crime.
