Abstract (EN)
Biomass is the most abundant source of energy in countries like Turkey. Energy production of biomass is an interesting and well promising field. Energy production from biomass using new efficient, reasonable cost and effort demanding and environmental friendly methods is under intensive studies worldwide. Biomass can be used as a substitution for traditional exhausted, environmental polluting energy sources. Using plant and food wastes as biomass in bio oil production is a helpful method for the waste management and energy production. Fast pyrolysis is a promising method for bio oil production of biomass. In this study, we used garden and food waste as biomass material. A total of 15 g biomass with a particle size of 1-1.5 mm was used in this study. Fast pyrolysis method was used with three different catalysts (dolomite, calcite, and zeolite). The temperature has been increased to 450-550. The rate of nitrogen gas flow was kept constant (500 mL/min). GC-MS analysis was performed to determine the bio-oil components obtained. it was found that the bio-oil contained the most levoglucose and then the acetic acid, 1,2-benzenediol and furfural alcohol compound. In terms of biochar and bio-oil, the yield average of all three catalysts was close to one another but in terms of biogas, zeolite yield average was higher. GC-MS analysis was performed to determine the bio-oil components obtained. As a result, the most product of the bio-oil, acetic acid was detected.
