Power at conflict management in organizations and a sample study

In Organizational Behavior, power is closely related with conflict, leadership, job satisfaction, motivation, personality, attitude etc., but it has not been made enough research and studies on it. Although power is a term of sociology, it is used by Behaviour Sciences and confused with many other terms. Conflict is everywhere of the daily life and topic of the several research. Nowadays, because of the increasing competition, globalization, cultural differences, organizations have the potential risk for conflict. Several researchers have studied many aspects of conflict which is also a term of psychology, Superiors allocate most of their time to obtain power and conflict resoluation. The aim of the research ,? Power at conflict management in organizations and a sample study?, is examining relations between conflict and power which we have insufficient research about it. In order to acqire the aim of the research, I examine the superior?s conflict managment styles and bases of power in textile industries in Malatya. My study consist of four parts: In the first part of the study, power and reletions between other similar words are defined, supervisior?s bases of power is examined and finally power management is mentioned. Second part of the study, conflict and several accepted views about conflict up to now is explained. Conflicts are classified due to the fact that it will be possible to examine different kinds of conflicts in organizations. Conflict resolution technics and management methods are explaned by reasons of the conflicts. In the third part of the study, effect of the power relations to conflicts are exemined. Result of the power in conflict management is mentioned and bases of power?s effect to conflict management strategies is determined. In the fourth part , a research that supports the theorical base of the study takes places.
