An implementation study of comparison of authentic leaders in organisations in the context of gender and perceptions of employees towards behaviors of authentic leaders towards gender

The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences among behaviors of authentic leaders in the context of gender and to reveal the differences among the attitutes of the employees towards male and female leaders' behaviors in terms of authenticity. For this reason, in the first chapter, the definition and the concept of leadership, new approaches to leadership and finally authentic leadership are discussed. In the second chapter of the study, under the title of the differences of female and male leader behaviors, the start of work life for women, their place in work life and the obstacles they come across, women professions, the differences between men and women in terms of their biology and being masculine and feminine and their behavior of leadership, women and education and finally the position of female leaders in Turkey and in the World and a statistical study are discussed. In the last part of the study, in order to make a comparison of a type of leadership, authentic leadership behaviors, in terms of gender, a study based on 3 male and 3 female leaders from 4 organisations of a firm and their employees is conducted, interviews with structured questions are administered and the answers are deciphered and the results are compared by descriptive analysis, one of qualitative data analysis.
