Abstract (EN)
Organisational communication is a concept that develops continually and differs according to each organisation. Organisational communication has been a factor that influences the success of the organisations competing in business world. The organisations that realize this influence have been organising their organisational communication structures in the fastest and most productive manner, because the organisational communication structures designed fast and correctly push the organisations ahead. Therefore, the firms form communication departments or prefer working with the institutions that support organisational communication. This shows how important the organisational communication is.One of the factors that make the organisational communication that has an important place in the business world develop continuously is technology. The use of means of communication that came into being in the organisational life caused new organisational communication systems and cultures to arise. The communication technologies used nowadays such as telephone, fax, internet, intranet, extranet, videoconference, electronic mail, and instantaneous message delivery have introduced new multiple and fast communication choices. Thanks to these communication technologies, each organisation has developed organisational structures that provide their organisational communication with maximum advantages. However, the organisations consider the disadvantages that the means of communication may cause in their organisational systems structured by means of technology.One of the communication systems that direct the organisational communication in the business world is electronic mail. Electronic mail is not a new communication technology. It is a traditional means of communication used for both intra and extra-organisational communication. The electronic mail, a commonly used means of communication, is now considered as one the basic means of organisational communication. The use of electronic mail correctly and effectively influences the organisational productivity. The disadvantages caused by the use of electronic mail in the wrong time and wrong place are the basic rules the members of the organisations should be aware of. Therefore, that the use of electronic mail is one of the elements that form the organisational culture is important with regard to organisational communication productivity.This study was carried out in order to look into the effects of electronic mail on organisational communication in Paristanbul Design Agency with the participation of the personnel of the same Agency. In this study, the personnel?s habit of electronic mail use and their views about the electronic mail were determined.
