Abstract (EN)
Organizational revenge is a major issue not much discussed to date and known as the dark side of organizations. Although there are various views about revenge as expressed by many disciplines, explanations about its causes and consequences within organizational scope were limited. Organizational revenge arises in the face of unjust situations in organizations, and the intention transforms into a behavior and then causes serious damage to both the employee and the organization. Although numerous studies have been carried out on organizational commitment to date, no research has been conducted on the relationship between organizational commitment and organizational revenge. In this study, impact of organizational revenge on organizational commitment investigated. The reason of investigating the relationship between organizational revenge and organizational commitment is that both of them are affected by unjust situations, behaviors and conditions in organizations. When analyzed in the organizational dimension, the cost of employees' revenge behavior against their jobs, colleagues or organization will be very high since it will affect commitment. The study was conducted in a thermal power plant with 800 employees in the province of Kütahya, Turkey. For the purpose of the study, a survey study was conducted with 251 employees in the organization. The results were evaluated with SPSS program. First, exploratory factor analysis was used to reveal reliability of variables. Then, descriptive statistics were used for demographic information of the participants. Finally, the analysis of the hypotheses was interpreted. As a result of the study, a negative relationship was found between organizational revenge and organizational commitment.
