Researching the relationship between organizational health and whistleblowing behavior: Education and health organizations version

Whistleblowing behavior is accepted as an important tool in disclosing unethical and unlawful behaviors that happen in education and health organizations. Whistleblowing behavior which has an active role within the frame of an inspection system in organizations, is an important element for organizations to inspect themselves. Organizational Health is an entirety of itself and a state of well-being consisting of personnel efficiency and activity, job satisfaction, organizational loyalty and all kinds of physical, psychological and cognitive conditions that lead to the formation of a sense of faithfulness. In this regard, the goal of this research, is to identify the relationship between organizational health perception and whistleblowing behavior. The research is of definitive quality and quantitative research pattern was used. The research sample consists of 370 people in total who accepted to join the research and 212 education personnel who work in schools and, 158 health personnel who were picked with simple random sampling method. Questionnaire technique was used as a data collection technique in the research. Analysis of data acquired from the was made with SPSS 22.00 package program. Reliability analysis, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis analysis of variance test, Spearman Correlation analysis was used in the research. According to the findings acquired from the research, it was seen that, a positive sided, weak (r=0,143) but sensible relationship from a statistical aspect exists. Also when the sub-dimensions of organizational health perception and whistleblowing behavior are reviewed, existence of meaningful relationships in all dimensions except the carelessness dimension was found. It was determined with the research that organizational health perception will increase with whistleblowing behavior increasing.
