The effect of organi̇zati̇onal stress on employees' effi̇ci̇ency: An appli̇cati̇on i̇n local governments

The purpose of this study is to search stress workers have been under and its affect on their performances.First part of study is about organizational stress and secondory is consist of concept of performance and a detailed literature review investigating interaction between them. At the last part of study ,it includes the stress that individuals have been exposed and data which is obtained from a survey on 265 workers who work at the mayoralty of Ankara/Yenimahalle at the aim of investigating interactive. When the datas were examined which was gathered from the scale in order to determine employees ' stress levels, Common gossip is first of factors that makes up the stress at work. The secondary is low salary and imbalance charges.Following these , hidden discrimination and nepotism, the country's economic and political situation, performance and evaluation injustice,the obligation of complating the work at the given time and the monotony of the work are the other factors which were determined as high stress. In the study we made , it was examined that what kind of influences there are on employees' work performances when the demographic characteristics of participants were exposed to stress and it was observed that employees' stress levels wasn't affected significantly by demographic characteristics of participants,gender, marital status, long spending years at work ,except educational status. But it was also observed that as their educational status was higher, their stress levels increased. Organizational stress levels of employees affected by workforce performance factors were discussed as business success and job satisfaction. The performance of employees, business success and job satisfaction was shown to be significantly affected by the organizational stress factors. So, it is said that as the employees' organizational stress level is higher , there is decrease on their workforce performance Key Words: Organizational Stress, Performance, Mayoralty of Yenimahalle
