Ekphrasis in the novel The Museum of Innocence by Orhan Pamuk

This relationship between visual arts and literature is a subject that has been studied on and disputed since the Ancient past times. Ekphrasis was used in several different meanings some like state of being sonorous for inanimate objects, vitalization for imaginary objects and scenes, to make readers feel like living in the moment, which is outlined as "Linguistic representation of visual compositions." Orhan Pamuk is one of the author who uses Ekphrasis to vitalize his novelistic style. This description of objects and places in the The Museum of Innocence novel, the idea of building up a museum among these and converted as a real museum by its author in İstanbul was the point of departure of this study. The aim of this study is to analyze the objects and spaces in the novel The Museum of Innocence in an ekphrasis context.
