Abstract (EN)

Supervisor:Assit. Prof. Dr. Arif Oğuz ALTUNEL Determining the dynamics of forest biomass on a temporal and spatial basis is an indispensable resource for sustainable forest management and planning. Forest resources inventory is used to determine forest dynamics. Regional measurements used to gather information in forest resource inventory are very time consuming and difficult. One of the forest inventory parameters is tree height. Remote sensing data is an important alternative to these time-consuming and cumbersome studies and continues to shed light on many unknowns with advancing technology. The main aim of this study is to obtain the height of the tree which is one of the forest inventory parameters by photogrammetric methods. In this study, 120 tree coordinates were taken from the overthrown area of İhsangazi Forest Administration Directorate of İhsangazi district of Kastamonu province, their length (tree length) was measured and inventory reports were created. Aerial photographs provided by the Information Systems Department and 1 / 25.000 scaled topographic stand maps produced by the General Command of Mapping were used in the study. The terrain elevation model was created by using GIS and remote sensing software programs such as ArcGIS and ERDAS. The height data corresponding to the coordinates of the measured trees were obtained from the obtained land elevation model. Afterwards, it was examined comparatively with the tree lengths obtained from local measurements.
