Due to production and development of nuclear weapons as destructive forces, the threat of eradication of all civilization values exists. Since the end of the Cold War and the USSR dissolution the proliferation of the mass destruction weapons has become one of the greatest dangers to international stability. Therefore, the issues of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation are of extreme importance and need to be resolved. The thesis is dedicated to a research of all aspects of a nuclear-free zone establishment in Central Asia and definition of its role in the international security system.The thesis consists of three parts. In the first part, a brief discussion on the nuclear weapons history is presented together with an overview of major events that took place in the context of the nuclear weapons during of the Cold War. Furthermore, the non-proliferation concept is explained and information on nuclear disarmament organizations that work via multilateral agreements is reviewed.Geo-political and geo-strategic importance of the Central Asian region, the policies of the Central Asian countries concerning the establishment of a nuclear-free zone, and current problems in the field of nuclear non-proliferation in Central Asia will be discussed in the second part.In the last part, Kazakhstan's voluntary renunciation of the Soviet Union nuclear weapons and its new international initiatives and activities towards the nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament will be analyzed. Methodological methods were employed in the analysis and all objectives of the study were achieved... The research was carried out on the nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament issues, which started off in the middle of the 20th century and are still present. The establishment of the nuclear-free zone in Central Asia and the problems related to its development in the international relations system were analyzed as well. Key Words: 1.
