Abstract (EN)
Medieval Ages" is a period of social transformation in both the East and the West. In this period, with the East-West interactions and following the changes of woman-man relations and also woman position in the society, very significant developments achieved. The women subject is not independent from this situation. While being difficult it is very important matter to trace women who have left significant mark on important periods of Islamic history starting from prophet Muhammad (PB UH) time all the way through the Emevis, Abbasids, Andalusian Emevis, Seljuks, Fatimids, Ayyubid and Memluks periods. Searching for Muslim woman with significant marks on the medieval Islamic world is important and necessary in terms of understanding the progress that woman has undergone in the historical process and understanding the stages that the woman has undergone from the past to the present. In Medieval Ages, the fact that women could not find as much activity opportunity as men has made them less visible in socio-cultural environments in many fields. Even, those who have succeeded in becoming prominent as a result of their abilities and education did not found much consideration in the existing historical records. However, despite all these troubles, women left mark in the Middle Ages. Women in the Middle Ages of Islamic world have left their mark on many areas widening from medicine to history, literature to music, writing to teaching and architecture to politics. These women and their significant vestiges, namely their works, are important for understanding the status, position and sociological development state of women. Keywords: Medieval Ages, Islamic Society, Women, Science-Culture-Art.
