Abstract (EN)

History and independence struggles of the Kazakhs, one of the important Turkic states in Central Asia, and the historical zhyrs depicting Abylai Khan who gathered Kazakhs together in this struggle were examined thus leading to the researcher who wanted to work on this field. One of the most important elements for the culture of the Turkic world is the tradition of minstrelsy in Anatolia and the "Zhyr Tradition" which is called "Zhyrism" in Kazakh field. This tradition is a common heritage in Turkic republics and communities. In this study, in addition to the "Zhyr Tradition and Historical Zhyrs" which is important in Kazakh field, the history of the Kazakh Turks, the independence struggles of the Kazakhs, the Kazakh language and the origin of the word "Kazakh" are discussed. Moreover, Kazakh literature and the epics in it which are the most important products of oral literatüre are emphasized. In our study, the historical Zhyrs are transcribed and translated into Turkish and finally the original text and its Latin transcription are presented as Annexes.
