The struggle for influence in the Middle East: The British railways issue (1918-1930)

In the middle of the socio-economic turmoil experienced by the Middle East after the First World War, the fact that it was included in the mandate administration by the western states, especially England, did not end the problems, on the contrary, it poured gasoline on the fire. In this study, where we especially tried to establish a domination area of the British, we tried to examine the efforts to find a way out within the framework of the objections raised from time to time by the people of the region against the division-fragmentation and administration efforts of the region that started after the First World War with the deductive method, and the rebellions that these objections turned into. By examining the British Archive Documents and the British Press, we tried to examine the reflections of the interwar period, which has not been revealed much historically, on the Middle East, from the perspective of railways and oil, between 1918-1930. In addition, in our study, in which we examined the rapid increase and gradual decrease in the dominance of England, which managed to dominate the 18th and 19th centuries, in the region, it was tried to reveal how the railroad and oil dilemma that caused wars could be shared by the western states through agreements.
