Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to determine the role of aural and visual use of materials in enabling the 9th grade learners with the pleasure of reading poems.`Pre test ? post test control group model? is preferred as the pilot model in this research. The experiential part was conducted to the two classes of the 9th grade students of Gülveren High School, Ankara in 2010 ? 2011 academic year. Forty students from 9 ? D class and thirty ? nine students from 9 ? F are included in the scope of this study.The aural and visual materials prepared by the researcher were used in instruction while no material was used in instruction for the control group. An attitude scale towards the poem was conducted to both of the groups before and after the application. At the end of this application, both groups were asked to evaluate the process and it was stated that their names would be kept as a secret. Thus, the student explained their views and advises on process sincerely.In the data analysis process, Cronbach?s Alfa parameter was used for reliability and two way variance analysis was used for repetitive measurement by using the SPSS 18.00 program.According to the results, it is observed that the use of visual and audial material use affects the students? attitudes in a positive way.
