ABSTRACTTHE ANALYSIS OF MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE AREAS AND THE ATTITUDES OF STUDENTS WHO ARE RECEIVING EDUCATION AT HIGH SCHOOLS TO PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS COURSEERASLAN, MeriçPhd Thesis, Physical Education and Sports DepartmentAdvisor: Prof. Dr. A. Azmi YETİMJune ?2012The aim of this study is to analyze the multiple intelligence areas and the attitudes of students who are receiving education at high schools to physical education and sportsThe study group consists of; 9 towns of Ankara - two high schools from each town. In total there are 7104 students of which 4393 boys and 2711 girls who are studying at 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades of these 18 high schools. Firstly the current data, related to the aim of study is given by scanning systematically the literature, so a theoretical frame is constructed. Secondly, ?P.E And Sports Attitude Scale?, improved by Demirhan and Altay (2001), and ?Multiple Intelligence Inventory?, improved by Saban (2001) are used to meet the aim.In the analysis and interpretation of data, whether the research findings have normal distribution feature or not has been determined by the one sample Kolmogorov- Simirnov Test, it has been established that the features are not suitable with normal distribution curve and the significance has been taken as P<0,05 by using Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test, Regression Analysis. SPSS (Statistical package for social sciences) package program has been used in the evaluation of data and the discovery of calculated values.As a result of this study; according to the variables which are gender, grade, the education and occupation levels of parents, there has been a significant difference between the multiple intelligence areas of students and the attitude levels of high school students to P.E and Sports course. Furthermore, as the attitude levels of high school students rises, the multiple intelligence areas increase.Key words: High school Education, Student, P.E, Attitude, Multiple Intelligence.
