Abstract (EN)
Water resources planning and management is a multidimensional and complex process. In this context, water management is important for many purposes. This study focuses on the optimal energy production in dams for energy production in the Middle Sakarya River. After defining the mathematical relationships for the dam system in the basin, an optimization model for optimal energy generation has been established on the system. In the model, sequential approximation dynamic programming optimization technique is used. In the model, the objective function consist of two-stages, in the first stage it is aimed to increase the maximum energy with the monthly dry-term currents and to increase the total energy by using the reliable energy model as a constraint in the model. When the results obtained and the previously planned studies for the basin were compared, it was seen that the installed optimization model produced better results. In the optimization model, it is observed that the dam with the largest volume controls and manages the energy maximization process.
