Abstract (EN)

This is a historical brief study about Ardanuc city, a district in Artvin city that had been invaded long time ago by tribes throughout medieval age. This place has a very important history. This study also reveals the major events that occurred after the middle age, especially the different cultures that this place went through as it had being invaded by different countries. This context, the history of the middle ages is mentioned, In the medieval, Ardanuc had been stuck in a struggle for dominance between Georgians, East Roma Sassanians, Arabs, Turkish and Mongolians. Now let's focus on Ashot the great, one of the Ardahan-ArtvinBagraters and is regarded as the founder of the Georgian Bagrationi dynasty, left Mtskheta which is the capital of first Iberia-Card King Parnavaz and came to Ardanuc making it his capital. He then formed a tradeincluded the city of Ardanuc on the trade route in the region.this way, his trade and taxes it receives, these trading movements significantly gave the region great weath. However, Ardanuc kept playing a very important role for its country until Kutaisi took the reign and became the capital city, then Tbilisi took that title to be the capital, but Ardanuc, this small Anatolian city, still shows the traces of the past untiltoday. Muslims and Christians artifacts are importance to many nation of this place. Ardanucis an important stage not only of Turkish history but also of Georgian history
