Abstract (EN)
This study explores the effects of political risks on international businesses in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and how these companies navigate these challenges. The MENA region is known for its high political risk and diverse types of political risks. The research adopts a qualitative methodology, collecting data through interviews with managers from seven countries within the MENA area. The study delves into the definition, perception, and management of political risks, along with the strategies devised to mitigate these risks. The findings highlight the most significant and effective strategies for managing risks in critical regions like the Middle East and North Africa. Among these strategies are showing respect for religious and ethnic differences, understanding the dynamics of tribes and ethnic groups, paying attention to the type of government and style of governance, and being sensitive to cultural divisions, and some other strategies. The study provides a comprehensive understanding of political risk management, highlighting practical strategies from various industries, and offers recommendations that give managers a competitive advantage.
