Abstract (EN)

This study .which was designed in accordance to the qualitative research model, focuses the phenomology described as the in-depth investigation of the thoughts of the individual about the events, experiences and concepts. The data of the study carried out, on the 11th year students of (N= 6) Ankara 50 Yıl high school in 2009 ? 2010 academic year, were collected by the use of semi structured interview technique. The interviews were video taped and then converted into written format and analyzed by the researcher. The questions were coded in accordance with the semi structured interview technique and the similar questions were compiled under the same theme.The data obtained revealed that the 11 grade students have so any misconceptions related to chemical equilibrium. Although most of these misconceptions were frequently reported in the literature some of them are entirely new. The study is original in this respect. The study also showed that there was no relation between the misconception of the students and their gender or academic success. In the light of these findings there were various proposals made for the text book authors and the researchers who may wish to investigate the same topic.Key words: Misconceptions, chemical equilibrium, interview technique, phenomology.
