Investigation of the attitudes of the 9th graders of secondary education on the physical education class (İstanbul province example)

The aim of this study; The attitudes of the students attending the 9th grades of secondary education in relation to physical education course according to gender variable, according to school type variable, according to the educational status of the family and monthly income variable, according to regular sporting variable, parental right or not status the differences between the two groups. In this study, we try to define and explain a situation that is present in the research screening model. The attitude scale of physical education course applied for the research consists of two parts. The first part consists of 14 questions including personal information and characteristics of the students; The second part consists of the Attitude Scale of Physical Education Course for Secondary School Students. In this study, 1100 secondary school 9th grade students from 10 high schools located in Avcılar, Bağcılar, Başakşehir, Büyükçekmece, Çatalca districts of Istanbul and randomly selected were applied to the physical education lesson attitude scale. 999 of these scales were found suitable for evaluation. Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test and Shapiro-Wilk Test were used to determine whether the variables in the first and second part of the physical education course attitude scale were in normal distribution. Based on the assumption that parametric test assumptions were met, Anova was used for independent samples t-test and multiple comparisons. Pearson correlation coefficient was examined in order to find the relationship between the variables. A = 0.05 was chosen for the significance level. As a result of the research, while there was no significant difference according to gender variable, whether the family was alive or not, there was a significant difference according to the type of school, socio-economic level variable and regular sports. According to these results, the factors that negatively affect students' attitudes towards physical education and sports lesson can be investigated in depth and contribute to the positive course of attitudes towards physical education course.
