Abstract (EN)

This research aims at revealing the effects of cooperative learning on thestudents? attitudes toward the environment and on their attainment level in thesecondary education course environment and man. In the direction of this basic aim,the changes that happen in the results were examined according to the gender factor,too.The research, in which pre-test and post-test control group model ofexperimental method was used, applied in Çanakkale in Kepez Avukat brahim MutluLisesi during the 2004-2005 education year. The findings grasped at the end of theresearch : The use of cooperative learning method in the course environment andman had a positive effect on students? academical success, cognitive attainment,level of permanence (recollection), but it had not a positive effect on students?attitudes toward the environment. Also the use of cooperative learning method in thecourse environment and man did not make any difference between the academicalsuccess, cognitive attainment, level of permanence (recollection) and attitudestoward the environment of girls and boys.Keywords: Environmental Education, Cooperative Learning, Environment and ManCourse, Attainment, Attitude toward Environment.
