Abstract (EN)

Aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the mental ability level and critical thinking dispositions of secondary school 9th grade students. Research conducted in Çorlu district in Tekirdağ province of Turkey with 339 students from Occupational High Schools, Anatolian High Schools and Anatolian Teacher High Schools where 184 of students were female and 155 were male. Data collected with Primary Mental Ability Scale (PMA 9-11), California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory and personal information form prepared by researcher.It is determined that students are middle level on language, quantitative and general ability level and lower level on reasoning. In terms of critical thinking disposition, students are determined as lower level.Positive strong relationships were found between critical thinking disposition and language, reasoning, quantitative and general ability levels.Keywords: Language, Reasoning Skills, Quantitative Skills, General Ability, Critical Thinking Disposition
