Abstract (EN)
In our research is to try to analyze what high school youth do in the part we call free time and their attitudes towards evaluating their free time within the framework of independent variables. What determines the in-school and out-of-school activities of students when evaluating their free time? Do high school students really spend their time as they should during the teenage years, which we call the most important period of their lives? And we tried to find answers to similar questions. Before the research, the theoretical background of basic concepts related to the study was made and similar studies were used. A group of 560 students was selected as a sample among 3553 high school students studying in 7 different types of schools in the city center of Bolu. As a data collection tool, the selected group was provided with the "Personal Information" questionnaire prepared by the researcher (Rider.1) and the "Leisure Attitude Scale: LAS" developed by Ragheb and Beard (1982). The version of the "Leisure Attitude Scale" adapted to Turkish by Akgül and Gürbüz (2010) was used. (Rider:2). With the Scale used, students' attitudes in cognitive, affective and behavioral sub-dimensions related to leisure activities, differences in terms of independent variables were revealed. We made a comparative analysis of our findings in terms of independent and dependent variables with the help of SPSS 26.00 program. As a result of the research, it has been revealed that high school teenagers do not use their free time in activities to improve and change themselves. Although the opportunities to evaluate their free time have increased, the time spent in front of the screen, which is a fact of our time, also negatively affects the forms of evaluating free time. It shows that the data of 560 high school students evaluated in the Leisure Attitude Scale were examined at close values according to the sub-dimensions. As a result, when looking at the sub-dimensions of high school students' free time attitudes, it was found that there was no significant difference in independent variables other than the gender factor. For the reason of this, it can be concluded that high school level students prefer screen use.
