The comparıson of the hıgh school students attıtudes towards physıcal educatıon and sports (sample of Kırşehır)

In this research, the attitudes of high school students in Kırşehir towards physical education and sports were compared by a descriptive approach. As an example of this research, totally 2021 voluntary students, consisting of 422 boys, 392 girls from the first classes; 306 boys, 290 girls from the second classes, 334 boys ? 277 girls from the third classes of 30 secondary schools chosen randomly, participated in this search. As a means of data collecting, a questionnaire consists of two parts which demographic features took place in the first part and Physical Education and Sport ? Attitude Measurement (BESTÖ) which was revised and calculated by Demirhan an Altay (2001) as Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient 0,93, classroom correlassion co-efficient 0,85, criterion validity co-efficient 0,83 took place in the second part, was used. The frequency (f), percentage (%), arithmetic average (X) and standard deviation (S) values of dates were calculated in SPSS 13.00 statistic program. When the variances were homogenous, t ? test, One Way Anova and Scheffe test were used in statistical calculations. When the variances were not homogenous, Dunnett T3 test was used. According to the results, the students? attitudes towards physical education and sports were at a positive level. It was found that there was a significant difference (P<0,05) among their attitudes towards physical education and sports as to the students? sex, general success levels, parents? jobs, concerns to sports among the family members, permission of their parents for doing sports. It was also found that there was not a significant difference among their attitudes towards physical education and sports according to the students? age levels, school types, class levels, parents? educational background, income levels, and also the illnesses or disablements experienced before. (P> 0,05) In the survey, when the students? attitudes were examined according to the places where they live in, there was a significant statistical difference (P<0.05) in ?One Way ANOVA? test, otherwise it was found that there was no significant and statistical difference among the sub-groups in Schaffer test (P>0.05)
