Examining the relations between the self-concept and the state anger and anger expression levels of secondary class students

Abstract (EN)
In this study, the relations between the self-concept and the state anger and anger expression levels of secondary class students at İnebolu District of Kastamonu Province was examined. The sub-dimensions of self-concept, anger and anger expression levels are considered as variables in this study. As there is no significant difference between the socio-economic level of parents of the students , this situation could not be treated as independent variable.The research was implemented on 308 students randomly designated from 1496 students who are studying in secondary instutions at 2007-2008 education year. To determine the state anger and anger expression leves which is the dependent variable of study, Self-Assesment Scale was used. However for the eveluation of self-concept, Offer Self-Image Test was applied.In this research obtained data was eveluated by using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 15.0 package program. According to the type of variables, t test and two-way variance analysis which are used for independent groups, were applied on data obtained as a result of the survey. As the margin of error .05 was used for the significance control and p<0,05 situation was highlighted as there is and a significant difference, p>0,05 situtation was highlighted as there is no significant difference.As the result of the research which is about if self-concept level and the state anger and anger expression levels of adolescents studying at the secondary instutions vary or not, it is found that as the self-concepts of adolescents studying at the secondary instutions increase also the state anger, anger-in and anger-out levels increase but the anger control level decreases.The findings about the the relationship between sub-dimensions of self concept and state anger and anger expression levels of adolescents studying at the secondary instution are; as the family relations, impulse control, superior adjustment, mastery, body image, vocational and educational goals point increases also state anger, anger-out points increse and anger control level decreases.As the emotional tone point increases, state anger and anger-in point increases. As the emotional health point increases also state anger, anger-in and anger-out point increases. Sexual attitudes is the only sub-dimension of self-concept, which increases as the state anger and the anger-out point increases.As the total self-concept point and social relations, which is one of the sub-dimensions of self-concept increases, it is found that also state anger, anger-in, anger-out points increases and the anger control level decreases.
