Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to analyze the entrepreneurship skills of secondary school students in the province of Tokat in terms of demographic characteristics, emotional intelligence, school climate, and parental attitudes. The research was designed using the correlational design from the quantitative research perspective. An online version of the questionnaire, which was created via Google Forms, was used to collect data from students by sending the link to the school administrators to distribute the link to the students. Data were collected from 1962 secondary school students. The questionnaire comprised of "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher, "Entrepreneurship Potential Inventory" adapted by Orhan (2017), "Emotional Intelligence Scale" adapted by Arslan and Kayıhan (2016) and "School Climate Scale" developed by Çalık and Kurt (2010), and "Parental Attitude Scale" adapted by Yılmaz (2000). The data were transferred to the SPSS 22 program and analysis studies were carried out. According to the results of the study, entrepreneurship skills were significantly higher in favor of male students, there was a weak positive and significant relationship between age and entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship skills did not differ significantly according to the residential area, where the school is located, and the type of high school. There was no significant relationship between academic achievement and entrepreneurship. There was a positive significant relationship between entrepreneurship and school climate and emotional intelligence, and entrepreneurial skill was democratic and permissive. It was observed that the participants raised with tolerant family attitudes were at a significantly higher level. Generalization of entrepreneurship education in secondary education, planning, and implementation of activities that increase the entrepreneurial motivation of female students, and increasing the practical parts of the achievements of the secondary school entrepreneurship course curriculum are recommended. Moreover, encouraging women's entrepreneurship, creating learning areas to improve the emotional intelligence of secondary school students, improving the school climate, and organizing training giving parents a democratic attitude are suggested.
