Analyzing ethical values that secondary and high school children have about using animals in experiments in terms of different variables

This research has been carried out to determine from which variables secondary and high school children are affected in the process of deciding the animals? being used in the experimentsAs a result of the targets of the research and literature scanning, scenarios were prepared, in accordance with formed theoretical bases. While the contents of the scenarios were being prepared, by considering the diseases that caused suffering for people during the 21st century and the studies conducted on animals, cancer treatment, obesity, cosmetics industry and commercial worries were taken into account.In order to choose the schools properly in terms of their socio-economical levels, which was an important step for the research, we benefited from tha data of development levels in the towns of Ankara, provided by State Planning Organization (DPT). The schools where the scenarios would be applied were chosen by using proportional calculating Formula of Thompson. In four different developmental levels, the scenarios were applied in 23 schools in total 8 towns, which accounted for 12,56 % representative sampling. During these applications, in order to find out the demographic information that the students had ecxept for the scenarios, `?personal data inquiry (questionnaire, survey)?? was used and `?success test?? was performed to determine their levels.After the application, the responds that the students gave were examined by using the strategies of content analysis, a technique of data analysis, and in the light of top themes, the were encoded and the results were obtained.Finally, the values that the students had about the usage of animals in experiments and the parameters that were thought to have influence on these values were determined and necessary comments and suggestions were made.Key words: Bioethic, Education of Bioethic, Ethical Approaches, Animal Experiments
