Abstract (EN)

Today, the most important value is information. Information technology constitutes the most important element of information society. With the rapid spread of information technology educational institutions have also begun to benefit from this technology. Due to the wide-spread use of information technology at schools, school administrators are expected to use the technology effectively. This research aims to reveal the level of executives' competence on the use of information technology in secondary education institutions. The sample of the research constitutes 140 managers that work in official and private secondary education institutions in Uşak- central districts and in other districts. "Self-efficiency to use information technology in education" survey was carried out to school administrators. Obtained data was entered and analyzed via the software package SPSS19.0. Data was tabulated by considering the demographics that joined the survey to demonstrate their competence. Data obtained from the survey findings are evaluated and interpreted in the fourth part of the research. According to the result, secondary education instution administrators' competence that is the usage of the information technology varies according to age, graduation (education), seniority and information technology education variant.
