The evaluation of the works done by the students studying in art classes in high school according to their artistic development features

This research is about the students studying at the first level of high school.The aim of the research is to identify students? drawings and paintings? suitabilitybetween their calender age and their artistic development. Thirty chosen studentswere made to draw and paint two kinds of works. One is with images and the otherone is by copying. Firstly, students were made to do the image work. Secondly,before starting the copying work, students were given information about the art workand its artist. And then criticism and the esthetics study of the work were done.The sixty pictures drawn by thirty students were examined by three expertsaccording to their rates, perspective, rhythms, completeness and colouring degrees.Students? artistic developments were determined by taking the average of the resultsgiven by the experts. According to the findings which were obtained, it was seen thatmost of the drawings and painting were under their calender ages. In this research, itcame out that there were so few pictures that reflect ?Reality Period? which theyschould be in according to their ages.In this age where technology is impoving rapidly, the necessity of arteducation is an obvious reality. In spite of the fact that, in our country we have a lotof problems about art education. In this research, these problems were tried toexplained by taking the ideas of art educationists.Key words: Rates, perspective, rhythms, completeness, colour
