Teaching philosophy in the secondary education trough principles, methods and techniques in teaching

The restructuring of philosophy lessons in the secondary education for carrying out them in a planned and programmed way is one of the most important problems of our day. The learning-teaching experiences should be reshaped according to the education principles and methods for the realization of a planned and programmed philosophy education. There should be established a basic database related to the contents, goals, strategies, methods, techniques, planning and measurement-assessment in order to make a qualified shaping and improvement. This kind of database should form a criterion from to planning to practice. Only when it is established such a database, problems will be solved, correct decisions will be made and there will arise a possibility to choose among appropriate alternatives. In this study, it was explored the possibility of establishing a theoretical framework related to the educational principles, methods and techniques for the fulfillment of the philosophy lessons of the secondary education within the scope of a certain plan and program. It was proposed in the study that such a theoretical framework is not sufficient alone; therefore, the philosophy lessons program is needed to be restructured for an effective practice. It is clear that the philosophy lesson has the most important task in the efforts of achieving the general aims of Turkish National Education. Making philosophy lessons qualified, scientific and appropriate to the necessities of our age will help the country in achieving the general aims of the national education.
