Examination of pronouns in related themes in secondary school 6th grade Turkish textbooks in terms of various variables

This study is an up-to-date study as it is examined on Turkish textbooks that started to be used in the 2021/2022 academic year in line with the gains in the renewed Turkish Curriculum. When the accessible area is scanned, it has been observed that the studies on the meaning that pronouns add to the text are insufficient. Accordingly, this study is important in terms of the topicality of the subject and the fact that it will fill a gap in the field. The aim of the research is to examine the pronouns in the texts in the sixth-grade Turkish textbooks in terms of different variables. The aim of this study is to determine the pronouns in the texts in the relevant themes of the 6th grade Turkish textbooks prepared by the Ministry of National Education and private publications, and to examine them in terms of the frequency, structure, variety, and the meaning they add to the text. The data collection tools used in the research were developed by the researcher. Data to determine the types of pronouns and the meaning they add to the sentence/text of the secondary school sixth grade students were obtained from the Turkish textbooks used in the 2021-2022 academic year. Content analysis technique, one of the qualitative data analysis techniques, was used in the analysis of the research data. The data collected by examining the reading texts in the relevant theme in the course book were organized in categories or themes using the "content analysis" method, reviewed and tried to be interpreted. This study can give an idea to the authors of the 6th grade Turkish textbooks in terms of the use of the pronouns in the books in terms of the frequency, in terms of the type of reference, the use in terms of the noun element it represents, in the word groups and in the context of the meaning it adds to the text as a result of the task in the sentence.
