Comparative analysis on sufi issues in secondary school textbooks

Textbooks, which are the primary means of achieving the objectives of the curricula, are common sources of teachers and students. Values education, which forms the perspective of secondary school curricula, and sufism, which is a spiritual training method, support each other. In our thesis, the status of Sufism education in formal religious education in secondary school 5-8. Grade DKAB, Basic Religious Knowledge, Life of the Prophet are examined within the framework of textbooks. At the end of the study; it is determined whether the sufism teaching is given as much as necessary in the textbooks and whether there is a sufficient connection between the education of morality and values and the teachings of Sufism. Our thesis consists of introduction, two main chapters and conclusions. In the introductory section, a general introduction and evaluation of the new DKAB, Basic Religious Knowledge, Life of the Prophet, which is the essential resources for the purpose, method and preparation of the textbooks and put into practice in the 2007-2008 academic year was made by revealing the problem leading to the research. In the first chapter, the relationship between sufism, morality and religion was explained by explaining the sufi issues in the secondary school textbooks within the framework of the concept of morality. In addition, the concept of value, which was included in the curriculum for the first time, was evaluated in the context of Sufism and morality. In the second part, the content and activities of secondary school 5, 6,7 and 8th grade DKAB, Basic Religious Information, Life of Prophet Muhammad, which constitute the problem of the research and selected as a sample, were evaluated in the context of Sufism issues.
