Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to examine the efficiency of elective courses in the field of religion, ethics and values in secondary school which has been implemented since 2012-2013 academic year in line with the teachers' opinions. The research was structured in qualitative research model in order to obtain more detailed views of DCAB teachers about elective religious courses. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 24 DKAB teachers working in various secondary schools in Malatya city center, which were determined by easily accessible sampling technique, which is one of the purposive sampling methods used in qualitative research. Semi-structured interview forms developed by the researcher were used and data were collected through face-to-face interviews with teachers. In the light of these data analyzed by descriptive analysis method, some of the results are as follows: The majority of the teachers who participated in the study think that elective religious courses meet an important need. According to the participants, it was stated that various problems were encountered in the efficient conduct of elective religion, ethics and values. The teachers who participated in the study expressed problems related to these problems caused by students, teachers, parents and school administration. It has been determined that the elective courses are not determined according to the parents 'and students' views and that the interests and abilities of the students are not taken into consideration during the course selection process. The teachers who participated in the study think that there are enough teachers for elective religious courses, but the quality of teachers is not at the desired level and in-service trainings are inefficient.
