Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of secondary school mathematics teachers about usage of Elementary Mathematics Education program's field knowledge courses, field education courses and legislation knowledge courses in their professional life and opinions about the updated undergraduate program. In this research, case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The study group consists of 8 mathematics teachers working in different secondary schools in Zonguldak. Data were collected with a semi-structured interview form consisting of 15 questions. The data obtained from the interview were recorded with voice recorder, documented and analyzed by descriptive analysis. As a result of the research, the teachers stated that there is no direct professional use of the field knowledge courses in the Elementary Mathematics Education program, and that some of the field knowledge courses in the updated undergraduate program are positive to reduce credit and time but they should not be removed in terms of hardware. It was found that the undergraduate program which was updated by expressing that the professional usability of the knowledge of legislation and the field education courses is high, that in the updated undergraduate program it would be very beneficial to increase the field education courses in particular and that it would increase mathematical literacy in parallel, increasing the ratio and type of elective courses would contribute to the professional development.
