School climate and organizational commitment as predictors of math teachers' burnouts (A case in Malatya province)

Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, relations among burnout levels with school climate perceptions and organizational commitment of secondary school math teachers were investigated. Screening method and relational screening models are applied in the study. Working group consists from 312 maths teachers working in secondary schools and imam hatip secondary schools of Malatya during the period of 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 education year. Maslach Burnout Inventory of 22 items, School Climate Scale of 9 items and Organizational Commitment Scale of 15 items and personal information forms are used as data collection tool. Data are analyzed via SPSS software. According to the findings of the study, it is seen that there are significant relationships between burnout levels, organizational commitment and school climate perceptions of secondary school mathematics teachers. So, these relations can be claimed to show that secondary school math teachers' emotional commitment and school climate perceptions predict their burnout negatively and the attendance commitment of secondary school mathematics teachers predicts their burnout positively.
