Evaluation of the opinions of secondary school students parents about visual arts lesson in socioeconomic and sociocultural level

This research is a qualitative research in the screening model, which aims to determine the views of the parents of the students taking visual arts at the secondary school level on the visual arts lesson in the context of their socioeconomic and sociocultural status. The research consists of the phases; the literature and application. In the first phase of the research; the theoretical part of the study was formed by making scans for the literature and in the second phase; purpose-oriented data were collected by questionnaire and semi-structured interview technique. The quantitative data obtained from the research were digitized and analyzed by using frequencies from descriptive statistical methods and the qualitative data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. At the end of the research, it was concluded that the socioeconomic and sociocultural conditions of the families were effective in the opinions of the parents about the visual arts lesson and this could affect the attitudes of the families towards the lesson positively or negatively.
