Improvement of the geometry cost scale for the secondary school students and geometry prevention of some variables

The purpose of this study is to examine the predictors of geometric anxiety of secondary school students. For this purpose, geometry anxiety scale for middle school students was developed and it was used to determine the predictors of geometry anxiety. The study was carried out in the province of Hatay. Scale was used as a data collection tool. Data collected in two steps were obtained from two different working groups of the same education level, one of which was composed of 225 students and the other 517 respectivelly. Evidence of reliability-validity of the geometry anxiety scale is presented at the first stage of the study. In the second stage of the study; multiple linear regression model including dependency variable as geometry anxiety and independent variables as school devotion, gender, parental education status, preschool education and academic achievement were investigated. According to the findings of the study, gender, school devotion, general academic achievement, grade level, and interest in class were found to be significant predictors of the geometric concerns of secondary school students.
