Abstract (EN)
This study aims to investigate the resistance behavior perceptions of teachers and students at the secondary school. The research design was a mixed study in an explanatory sequential pattern. The sample was composed of 284 teachers and 383 students. Quantitative data were collected through the Students Resistance Behaviours Scale For Teachers (SRBS-T) and the Students Resistance Behaviours Scale For Students (SRBS-S). Qualitative dimension was carried out on 5 teachers and 10 students using semi-structured interviews and focus group interviews. The quantitative data was analysed using t-test, Mann-Whitney-U test, one way variance analysis and Kruskal-Wallis test. The qualitative data was analysed using content analysis. According to the findings of this study, the frequecy of the teachers' encountering resistance behaviours did not show a significant difference according to the gender, branch, seniority and the graduated school. While resistance behaviours did not show a significant difference according to the monthly income level of the family, they show significant difference in favor of male students and higher grade students. According to the teachers, families are the main source of resistance behaviours, on the other hand they try to improve the teaching learning process to deal with student resistance behaviours. According to the students, the sources of student resistance behaviours were their teachers, their friends and themselves.
