An investigation on digital stories in the context of mathematic history of secondary school students: How was mathematics born?

The aim of this study is to determine how secondary school students are involved in the digital storytelling process and how this storytelling process reflects on the nature of mathematical knowledge and the nature of mathematics. The study group of this research, which is carried out using a case study approach which is one of the qualitative research methods, consists of 7 secondary school students and 7 secondary school students in Kastamonu Province. A purposive sampling method was used in the study group. In order to get students' views on digital storytelling processes, opinion form and interview were used. The students' views on the nature of mathematics and the emergence of mathematical knowledge have been used. As a result of the study, the students enjoyed the digital storytelling process, the digital storytelling program is very easy to use and easy to use, thanks to the digital storytelling activities prepared by the mathematicians have learned from their lives. The students did not have a common definition of mathematics; The students stated that mathematics was mostly used to solve daily life problems and to calculate numbers more easily.
