Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the responsibility and school motivation levels of secondary school students according to gender, class, academic achievement and level class variables. The research was carried out in the second semester of the 2018-2019 academic year in public schools. The purposeful sampling through the maX̄imum diversity from the secondary schools in Duzce, which is the universe of the research, consists of 960 students. In this study, a scanning model was used from the quantitative research methods. In the study, data on the gender, grade point averages and class level were collected by 'Personal Information Form'. In this study, 'Secondary School Motivation Scale' and 'Responsibility For Learning Scale' were used as data collection tools. The data obtained from the scales were analyzed with the SPSS package program. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that female students had higher learning responsibility and school motivation than male students and 5th grade students had higher learning responsibility than 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. There was a significant difference between the upper class students with high academic achievement and the lower group students with average and low academic achievement between the schools with and without level classrooms. However, while there was no significant difference between the students who had high academic achievement in the level classrooms and the students who had high academic achievement in the non-level classrooms, there was a significant difference between the sub-group which level classrooms applied and the sub-group in the school where the level classrooms were akademic applied. In addition, a meaningful, positive and high level of relationship was determined between learning responsibility and school motivation.
