Abstract (EN)

This study is a quantitative study investigating the level of sentences, paragraphs and texts of secondary school students. In addition, the effect of independent variables on students' level of written expression was also investigated. The sample of this study consisted of the 5th and 8th grade students in Malatya central district secondary schools. "Personal Information Form" was used as a data collection tool in the study and " Writing Grade Scale" developed by the researcher was used. In the research, it was evaluated quantitatively in the written expressions of the students. The data obtained from the study were tested by using t-test analysis for one-way ANOVA and unrelated (independent) samples which are parametric tests in accordance with the sub-objectives of the study. As a result of these findings, it was determined that the students' sentence, paragraph and text making skills were not at the desired level. In addition, in the research conducted in the 5th and 8th grade students on the level of written expression of the students, the cla ss level, the library status, socioeconomic status, the mother's education level, the father's education level and the frequency of taking home period, the status of being a library at home, Authoring and Writing Skills course has been found to have a significant effect.
