Middle school teachers and students opinions about the educational informatics network platform: The example of Hatay province

The aim of this research is determine the opinions of the teachers and students about the renewed and enriched content of the educational informatics network (EBA) also known educational platform which was developed by the directorate general for innovation and education technologies (YEĞİTEK) and came into use of the teachers and students freely for the purpose of providing e-content and directing the enhancement for the movement to increase opportunities and technology(FATIH Project). The teachers who teach and the students who have education at secondary schools which are attached to ministry of education in Hatay between 2018 and 2019 form the population of the research. One hundred and eighty teachers and one thousand and nineteen students who are at secondary schools which are in Fatih Project form the research sample. The questionnaire form was used as a data collection tool in the research. The questionnaire related to aim of the teachers' using educational informatics network and their views about educational informatics network was used to determine their aims of using educational informatics network and their views about educational informatics network. All the data which was collected through the prepared questionnaires from the teachers and the students who participated in the research was analyzed by the way of the SPSS 20 for Windows packaged software. Crosstab was used to show the relationships among frequency, percentage and different variances in descriptive statistics. When it was looked at the results of the research in general, it was identified that the teachers did not use educational informatics network (EBA) very often, used the content which existed there instead of producing or sharing on educational informatics network, used it on informatics and smart board mostly. It was also determined that the operating time, the type of education and the gender did not affect the usage of educational informatics network, the teachers whose branches had content on educational informatics network used it more often, the parts of content, lessons and courses were used most and educational informatics network was useful, necessary, but sleazy. In addition to this, it was necessary that the number of the applications such as educational games and cartoons should be increased. The videos of the lessons were boring and the wall of educational informatics network and mobile applications should be developed were determined as well. The students and the teachers said that the new version of educational informatics network was better than the former one, but the new developed applications were as good as they were wanted. It was advised that application softwares such as e-school, ministry of national education data processing systems should be integrated into educational informatics network (EBA) like the e-exam, evaluation of marks on educational informatics network, people should also have formal school e-mail accounts on educational informatics network (EBA) like having digital id, educational informatics network (EBA) should not require internet connection to be accessed by the teachers and the students. All of these facilities may increase the usage of educational informatics network (EBA).
