Abstract (EN)
Evaluation of Movement Levels of Patients Who Underwent Surgical Treatment in The Orthopedic Inpatient Clinic and Related Factors INTRODUCTION and AİM: This study was carried out experimentally, prospectively and interrelatively in order to investigate the motion levels and related factors of the patients who underwent surgery in orthopedics. MATERIALS and METHODS: The study was carried out with 151 patients with orthopedic surgery between April and June 2018 after the approval of the ethics committee. Patient data, Patient Mobility Scale (HRS) and Observer Mobility Scale (GSS) were used to collect data. Pillai varys Trace correlation and pearson correlation coefficient were used to evaluate the data, average, standard deviation, dependent independent sample test, repeated measures variance analysis. RESULTS: The mean age of the patients was 65,70 ± 10,107, 84,8% were female, 77,5% were married and body mass index averages (BMI) 31,87±4,484. 13,2% mobid obese had BMI at the borders and 29.1% of them stated that they had regular exercise. Spinal / epidural anesthesia was applied to 94,7% and 98,0% of the patients were treated with open surgery. The mean the first postoperative day HRS and GHQ scores of the patients were significantly higher than the postoperative second day (p<0.05). The postoperative blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory values of the patients with orthopedics were significantly higher than those of the preoperative values. On the first and second postoperative days, the patients were found to have the most difficulty in sitting on the bedside during mobility (p<0.05). CONCLUSION: As a result, it was observed that the mean scores were significantly higher on the 1st postoperative day, and the patients experienced more pain and difficulty during the second day and less ability to perform their movements independently. Ensuring the mobilization of the patients, monitoring the vital signs before and after the movement, and maintaining the hemodynamics are important for patient safety and prevention of complications.
