Abstract (EN)
The world's population is growing and increasing rapidly. This situation makes food production mandatory. Considering the increasing population, agricultural production gains great importance. In order to make production, agricultural activities, sustainable agricultural methods, and appropriate soil management are required. When proper soil management cannot be provided, agricultural production has some negative consequences. Greenhouse cultivation started in our country in the 1940s in order to achieve the pauses caused by environmental factors and climatic conditions, the continuity of production, its accessibility throughout the year, an increase in products and high productivity. The greenhouse sector is the most important production material of today, which can control indoor conditions. It is necessary to meet the needs in the greenhouse sector, to use them efficiently and to increase efficiency. Chemical pesticides are one of the most important inputs that increase efficiency in production. Chemical drugs have become widespread and their usage areas have increased due to their rapid action and short results. It is also used in the agricultural sector to protect against unwanted harmful insects, fungi, weeds and various diseases during the production stages. Since chemical drugs are toxic substances, their widespread release into the environment with the increase in their use is a concern for human health. The lack of adequate training and knowledge of those who work during the preparation, administration, transportation, mixing and loading of drugs during the studies poses a great threat to the ecosystem. All living things in the environment, especially agricultural workers, are under threat due to the wrong spraying practices used. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of chemicals in the greenhouse sector in terms of Occupational Health and Safety.
