Analysis of fabricated narrations concerning fasting and text (In particular of el-Mevzûât of Ibn al-Jawzi)

In this research, the fabricated hadiths in the "Kitâbu's-Sıyâm" section of Ibn al-Jawzi's work called al-Mawzû'ât were examined in terms of chain of narration and text. In the first section, the concept of fabrication was introduced at the beginning of our study, and the historical process of fabricated narrations, the ways of fabricating hadiths and the reasons for fabricating hadiths were discussed. Then, al-Mawzû'ât, which is the subject of our research, and its author Ibn al-Jawzi were introduced. At the end of the first section, general information about the worship of fasting was provided. In the second section of our research, the narrations in the "Kitâbu's-Sıyâm" section of al-Mawzû'ât, which is related to the worship of fasting, were examined. These narrations were analyzed in terms of chain of narration and text by making use of literature sources. The criticisms directed to the narrations by critics were also included and evaluations were made at the end of the hadiths. Finally, in the conclusion section, the findings obtained from the chain of narration and text analysis of the relevant hadiths are explained and evaluated.
