Abstract (EN)

Orrienteering, accepted are a sport of nature developing not only baldness, will power, determination, colmness, durability, social behaviors and mathematics-logic capasiety but also includes properties which imrove the human moral values, is nowiy beetng well-known sport in our country. Orienteering, utilizing maps and is a branch of sport, which aimed arms to final a serial of control points defired on a special topografic map and requires mental attention and motivation that sport reguires hard efforts, motivation and exercise. Also orienteering is called a sport of brara activity. Because that sport needs fast decision ability, reading map in to the athletic properties. Orrenteerig has not been developedjn Turkey but it has been benefited by military and is an important education means. Orienteering, which has recently acquired autonamy, started to gain interest at schools. Also, it is applied to physical education lessons to improve children's social invidiual behaviours anb mathematics-logical intelliqence. Assuming that orienteering will be effective an children's development in social indvidual behaviours and mathematical-loqical intelliqence , survey was applied to the student's of Istanbul Ozel Alev elementary school where this study was first started to evaluate how that sport effects their social. Individual behaviours and mathematicalloqical intelliqence and what those students thauqht after they started, to do orienteering. As the out come of the survey, it is understood that orienteering made an important benefits to the survey subjects on their social-individual behaviours and mathematical-loqical, intelliqence.
