Özet (EN)

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the morphometric analysis of the os femoris and the estimation of the articular surface area of the condylus femoris with stereological method. Material and Methods: This descriptive study was carried out using a total of 180 adult femur bones from 80 right femur bones (40 females, 40 males) and 100 left femur bones (50 females, 50 males) from the laboratory of the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Adnan Menderes University, Aydın. In all bones, 8 parameters were measured at the length, width, and proximal and distal ends of the femur. Femur length measurements were made with an osteometric board, circumference measurements were made with a tape measure, and other linear distance measurements were made with a digital caliper. Angle measurements at the proximal end were made with a goniometer. The joint surface area of the condylus femoris at the distal end was estimated using point couinting method, one of the stereological methods. IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0 package program was used to evaluate the measurements. Results: When comparing morphometric parameters according to gender, it was found that the average inclination angle of women was higher. In men; femur length, femur upper 1/4 body circumference, femur middle 2/4 body circumference, femur lower 3/4 body circumference, caput femoris vertical diameter, caput femoris transverse diameter, caput femoris circumference, femur neck axis length, femur neck circumference, It was determined that the averages of fossa intercondlylaris width, fossa intercondlylaris height, condylus medialis width, condylus lateralis width, condylus medialis length, condylus lateralis length, bicondylar distance and joint surface area of condylus femoris were higher. Conclusion: A correlation was found between the joint surface area of the condylus femoris and all parameters except the inclination angle and femoral neck anteversion angle. With our study, a large-scale data record was created for the proximal and distal morphometric parameters of the femur and the joint surface area of the condylus femoris.
