Dr. İsmail ÇELİKProf. Dr. Zülküf KAYAProf. Dr. Ahmet Can ÜLGERThis study was carried out depending upon the analysis soil and leaf in theplants peanut, corn as the second crop and wheat grown in the soils formed on thedifferent main materail (alluvial, basaltic turf, ophiolite, basalt, marn, colluvial,calcite, serpantine) in the province Osmaniye and its surrounings and relationshipsbetween the fertility of the soils and plant nutrition were investigated.For that purpose the assays of the available P, K, Fe, Cu, Zn, Mn, for theplants in 10 differnt soils were done. In terms of P content of the soils 3 weresufficient while the other 7 were insufficient. In terms of the K content 6 weresufficient but 4 were insufficient. On the other hand with respect to Fe, Cu, Zn, Mnthe all soils were found as sufficient.Without any effect of the seed variety and parent material while P wassufficient in the plant wheat grown in the soils formed on the parent material of thebasaltic turf, in the plants wheat on the other parent materials the P was deficient.As for K and Cu they were deficient, in the all plants. N deficiency was determinedin addition to those elements in the plant wheat grown in the soil formed on theparent material serpantine. P, K and Zn dificiency were determined without anyeffect of the seed variety and parent material in the plant peanut and the secondcrop corn. N deficiency was determined in the plant corn as the second crop inaddition to those nutrients in the soils formed on the parent material of the marnand basalt. As a result of that study those nutrition deficiencies determined asindependent of the seed variety and parent material were considered as a result ofthe wrong fertilization, negative physical, chemical and biological properties of thesoils and the insufficient water regime. A fertilization programme is requiredconsidering the demands of climate, soil and plant.Key Words: Parent material, soil fertility, wheat, corn, peanut.II
